about thE blog
Cut the Mustard means: "come up to expectations; reach the required standard".
Cut the Mustard started when I was in my first year after Varsity (2015). I was a start-out-actress who,for the first time, realized that the tipe of saying that you read on a Hulett's sugar packet: "Life doesn't always go according to plan", is true, and I was trying to figure out the why's and how's to it.
Writing has always been a way for me to vent, sift through my thoughts and feelings and usually it would've left me feeling better and with a plan. So since I was in the midst of my biggest figure-out-stage of life (23 does that to a person), writing made sense and so blogging made even more sense. Here you can find affordable day to day style ideas, some glitz and glam, interior inspiration for the one bedroom flat, room make overs for the 2-minute-noodles-kinda budgets, traveling tips-from planning to packing to actually going- and a whole lot of life and love.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
I'm Ansu, a South African actress and presenter. I live in Johannesburg, next to my best friend, 500m from my boyfriend and 65km from my family. I love love: talking about it, writing about it and giving advice on it. I prefer denim over leather, sneaks over heels and bubblegum ice-cream with sprinkles over a healthy well-balanced meal. Currenlty I'm watching Friends for the first time and I'm on season 6.
